What's happening this winter?
Glow Kids ended 2023 with a cookie decorating party hosted by Glow Kids Coordinator Rachel McEachron! In January, they began rotating meetings between Grace Church in Fayetteville, GA, and Crossroads Church in Newnan, GA, to make sure both areas' needs were met. This semester, one child has already shared that she believes in Jesus!
Glow + Learn began its 2nd semester with an upgrade! After a year of prayer and preparation, an ESL component was added to this gateway program. We are now meeting 3 times a month at The Bridge in Peachtree City, GA, and are excited to meet this need for our guests and offer a 30-minute devotional led by Julie Schaffer, the Glow + Learn Coordinator.
Mission Trip, a team including Naoko Uechi, Anna Uechi, and Noah Uechi, traveled in December and hosted many gatherings, including a Christmas Party for all returnees! Another team trip, including Noah Uechi, Doug Jones, and Melody Jones, will occur from March 19 to April 9. Pray for safety, health, and effectiveness.
Fiona Thiessen, the 1:1 Coordinator, will be hosting a 1:1 gathering in March, and we anticipate a full house since we currently have 30 1:1 partnerships taking place! This program is one of our most popular, and we always seek more English-speaking Christians to join our team!
Regular meetings combine the US + Japan: monthly online prayer meetings, leadership training for Japanese leaders, and weekly online discipleship study for believers.
GLOW Japan:
Glow Japan is led by a few leaders who work together to encourage, visit, bring to church, and meet with returnees as often as possible. KBSJ is an online Bible study that takes place every week led by a local missionary. We need more KBSJ Leaders. Please pray that we can find more!
Glow @ Home is an online group that provides monthly encouragement and Bible teaching for all returnees.
